Message from Pastor Kevin

03.13.20 | News COVID-19 COVID-19 Updates Board by Kevin Baker

In compliance with Governor Hogan’s executive order, Oakdale Church won’t be hosting any gatherings, groups, or activities at our facilities over the next two weeks. This includes our weekend worship services.  However, we are pursuing how best to make use of technology to host many of our groups online, including our worship services. We will be live streaming the service Sunday mornings at 9:00 & 11:00 AM at oakdale.church. The Ark Preschool is also following the MCPS closure.

These measures are precautionary and are being taken prayerfully with your health and wellbeing in mind. Our desire is not to create alarm, but to be wise. As God’s people, we have the privilege to walk through circumstances like these with peace, as we “cast all our anxieties upon him because he cares for us.” And in doing so, we can set an example of what it looks like to walk confidently in Christ.

Oakdale Church is a “community of communities” so please check with the leader of your small group, gathering, or activity or look out for communication from them about any online possibility they may be trying. Let your group leaders know of any emergency or need. Although we’re unable to gather together as one community for this time, we remain committed to caring for one another and meeting one another’s needs. As always, you can contact us at .

So that this contingency doesn’t set back the work that God has planned for Oakdale Church, please continue to contribute as you always have. You can find a link to online giving at oakdale.church/give.You can also give through the Oakdale Church app.

Please keep an eye out for future emails, website and Facebook posts as we seek to stay connected. If you are in a small group or other activity, please check in with your leader.  We will be trying some innovative ways to stay engaged with each other.

Please continue praying for our leaders, for their wisdom and discernment in responding to the current state of emergency. Please pray for one another and our neighbors and for a spirit of peace. And I will continue to pray for all of you.

In closing, I want to again encourage you to rest in God’s sovereignty and grace as we weather this season together. Remember you are loved by God and all of us here at Oakdale Church.

    Bless you,
    Kevin Baker
