Curious about Jesus

"The journey of faith is filled with challenge, joy, and fulfillment. Wherever you are on your path, know that God's love will guide you."

Everything You Wanted to Know

Bible-Truth or Fiction
The Bible is a book of stories, but the word story in this sense should never be thought of as tales told purely for the sake of entertainment. The stories in the Bible are the accounts of God moving in the midst of and guiding generations of people on their life's paths. Stories are the primary way in which all humans tell truths about the meaning and essence of life
Why should I become a Christian if they are hypocrites?
This excuse is often offered by those who want to continue to live in darkness. They do not want to be brought into the light of Jesus Christ. Jesus does not say, “Follow the church,” or “Follow the people.” Jesus says, “Follow me” (Matthew 9:9; Mark 8:34; John 12:26). We are given the freedom to choose. We have the ability to sin—to make choices that are against the teachings of God. Church is not a meeting place for saints, but a hospital for sinners. The worst sin you can commit is to say no to God. You will find hypocrites in the church because we are all sinners. You will also find people who are trying to live their life according to the teachings of Jesus Christ
All Religions are the same.
Don’t all roads lead to God?” people often ask. “If a person is sincere in his or her beliefs, won’t he or she get to Heaven?” If you allow that all beliefs are true, then by what standards do you live? All belief systems cannot be true, because they cancel each other out. If you take time to look at what each religion teaches, you’ll find that only Jesus Christ died for our sins and rose again. The Bible teaches that Jesus Christ, the Son of God, died on a cross for our sins, that He paid that debt in our place, and that if we will turn from our sin and follow Him, we can be forgiven and know that we will go to Heaven.
Does God really care?
How do we know if anyone cares about us or loves us? By their actions. The same is true with God. The Bible is filled with stories of people who felt God's love and were certain God knew them by name. Even when God reprimands, it is as a loving parent, just as parents’ reprimand today. For people who awaken to embrace the power of God in their lives, they feel that God knows them as individuals. They belong to God. You belong to God and are not alone.
How do I talk to God?
Talking to God does not have to occur in a specific or formal setting or in a church. One's heartfelt intent to communicate with Jesus Christ is all that is required. Prayer is a two-way communication, and that God must have time to respond. It is important to know you are worthy of communicating with God, and that He wants nothing more than to communicate in return. Begin your life of prayer with confidence and an attitude of expectation
Why Do I Need to Go to Church?
We come together as a way of strengthening our own faith. It affirms and undergirds who we are, and it reminds us of the things that are most important in the broad scheme of life. By linking with one another in church,  we learn through the total experience (music, Scripture, prayers, and so forth) that we are the people God has chosen to create a society of peace, love, and wholeness. </;
If I am a good person, why do I need Jesus?
Goodness is not the only valued lifestyle to which we should aspire. Living our life as God wants us to becomes the why of our lives. We become aware that we were created not just to do but also to reflect on something that is far more and far greater than just someone helping the elderly across the street. A "good" person is not always a happy or fulfilled person. God wants us to be good but also to share in the fullness of life
If God is good, why do bad things happen?
God has given us freedom of choice. We have the right to make choices in life that determine our future. Those decisions has been and always will be a frustrating degree of randomness to life's experiences. God does promise that whatever happens in life, God will be with us. God celebrates our victories and mourns our sorrows. God is good, and we are surrounded by that goodness. When life breaks apart, God is there to help us pull the pieces together;
How can Christians say that Jesus is the only way to Heaven?
Are you saying that if a person does not believe in Jesus Christ, they are going to Hell? Jesus Christ Himself said, “I am the way, the truth and the life, and no one comes to the Father except through me” (John 14:6 NKJV). If humankind could have reached God any other way, Jesus would not have had to die. His voluntary death on the cross makes this fact even more compelling. Christians are not superior to any other person. A person who believes Jesus Christ is the only Son of God and proclaims that truth is just one beggar telling another beggar where to find bread.
