“All In”, Part 2

“All In”, Part 2

by Kevin M. Baker on August 08, 2020

Key Scripture: Matthew 13:44-46

The Old Testament is filled with examples of people who were “all in” with God: Abraham, Joseph, Moses, Joshua, Elijah… This theme continues in the New Testament. Jesus makes clear that his followers have no choice but to be “all in”: the poor widow gave just two copper coins, but they were “everythingall she had to live on” (Mark 12:41-44); Jesus says in Luke 14:33, ”…any of you who does not give up everything he has cannot be my disciple” and in Matthew 13:44-46, the man who found the hidden treasure sold everything in order to buy it; likewise, the man who found a pearl of great value sold all he had to obtain it. When it comes to following Jesus, do you focus on the value or the cost?

“Totalmente Comprometido”

Escritura Clave: Mateo 13:44-46
