Key Scripture: Revelation 22:1-21
On July 30, 1945, the U.S.S. Indianapolis was returning from a mission in the Pacific. It did not make it home. A Japanese torpedo hit the battle cruiser on its way back. It sank in 12 minutes; 300 men died. Nine hundred went into the water; only 316 survived. One was the chief medical officer, who later wrote: “There was nothing I could do but give advice, bury the dead at sea, and try to keep the men from drinking the water. When the hot sun came out, and we were in this crystal clear ocean, we were so thirsty. You couldn’t believe it wasn’t good to drink. The real young ones…would drink the salt water and they would go fast. I can remember striking the ones who were drinking the salt water to try to stop them.” Not all water gives life, and only “living water” gives eternal life (John 4:13-14).

Receuerdo golpear los que bebieron el agua salada para intentar detenerlos.” No toda el agua da la vida, y solo el “agua viva” da la vida eterna. (Juan 4:13-14)
