The second way to enjoy waiting for God to act is to wait together. Sometimes we need encouragement as we wait. Elizabeth and Zechariah could have blamed one another for their infertility: “What have you done to bring about this judgment?” In ancient Israel, barrenness was not only a disappointment but also a source of shame. Yet, they did not attack each other. Instead, they waited patiently together. The third way to enjoy waiting for God is to wait prayerfully. When the angel Gabriel appeared to Zechariah, he said, “Do not be afraid, Zechariah, for your prayer has been heard, and your wife, Elizabeth will bear a son” (Luke 1:13). Finally, it was the right time for God to answer those years of prayer.

La segunda manera de disfrutar de la espera de que Dios actúe es esperar juntos. A veces necesitamos el estímulo a la espera. Elizabeth y Zacarías podría haber vuelto contra sí, culpando a los otros de su infertilidad: “¿Qué has hecho para llevar a cabo este juicio?” En el antiguo Israel, la esterilidad no sólo fue una decepción, sino también una fuente de vergüenza. Sin embargo, no se atacan unos a otros. En cambio, esperaron pacientemente juntos. La tercera manera de disfrutar de la espera de que Dios actúe es esperar en oración. Cuando el ángel Gabriel se le apareció a Zacarías, le dijo: “No tengas miedo, Zacarías, pues ha sido escuchada tu oración. Tu esposa Elisabet te dará un hijo” (Lucas 1:13). Finalmente, era el momento adecuado para la respuesta a esos años de oración.
