My Faith Story: Shortly before our middle child was to be born, my wife and I made a tough decision. We decided to leave the church I had attended since I was 8 years old and search for a new one. We were looking for a church community with young families and a strong children’s program that was closer to our home in Ashton. We started attending Oakdale on the recommendation of my godparents, both of whom worked for the Methodist church. I became involved in a men’s bible study and soon after things began to change for me. Weekly I was hanging around men who were walking with Christ. I began to listen to their stories of how Christ changed their lives and how they spent time in the word. I saw how they were living their lives differently than most other people I knew. Under their influence I began to read the Bible more. Once I did, it all became very clear to me. The Bible began to have meaning and purpose and it began to seep in to my heart. I thought my life was pretty good before but now I cannot imagine my life without a personal relationship with Christ.
