THe Oakdale App:

The NEW Oakdale App has been released. Our app is your new go-to place for accessing our message archive, manage online giving or access giving history, finding information and registering for events, submitting prayer requests and praying for others in the Oakdale Family, and finding encouragement for making disciples where you live, learn, work and play.


You can download it by searching for Oakdale Church Maryland in both the Android and iOS app stores.

  • I am having difficulty logging in. What should I do?

    When you first install and run the app it will have you login using your cell phone number to receive a code. 


    If we do not already have your cell phone saved in the My.Oakdale.Church database it will ask you to enter your email.


    If that also does not work, please reach out to communications@oakdale.church for assistance.  

  • How do I submit a prayer request?

    To submit any prayer request you can click the green "+" on the bottom right corner of the prayer page. Enter your prayer request, making sure you only include information you want available to the Oakdale Family, and if you want your request anonymous just check the box.


    All prayer requests are reviewed, and prayed for, by the church staff before they are displayed on the feed. Please allow up to 24 hours for this to happen.

  • How do I submit an anonymous prayer request?

    Follow the instructions above to submit a prayer request, make sure to only include information you want avialable to the whole Oakdale Family and then click the checkbox next to "make it anonymous". 


    All prayer requests are reviewed, and prayed for, by the church staff before they are displayed on the feed. Please allow up to 24 hours for this to happen.

  • How do I indicate I prayed for someone?

    Slide the green circle to the right on the bar at the bottom of the requests. This will let the person know that you prayed for them.


    Will it let anonymous people know I prayed for them? Yes it will.  

  • How do I add my photo or update my contact info in the My.Oakdale.Church database?

    On the mobile app click the green circle with your initials on the upper left corner. This will take you to your profile page. You can edit your contact info or add your photo by clicking the pencil icon by your name.

  • How can I access the church directory?

    Click the 3 line hamburger menu button at the top right corner of the app. Under Connect you can click on Directory Search. You can then search for Oakdale Family contact info.


    Only people who are logged in and also in the directory are able to access the directory. People who are considered "active" by recently attending a small group/event/worship or are a recent giver.

  • How do I edit my privacy settings and what info is displayed in the directory?

    Only active members of our congregation are able to view the church directory when they are logged into the app.


    The default settings include: photo, name, cell phone and email.


    Minor children are NOT included in the directory.


    You can edit what information displays by clicking the 3 line hamburger menu at the top right corner of the app. You can choose to share more information or less information than the default above. You can change your settings two ways:

    1. From the Directory Search click the 3 dots in the upper right corner. This will open your privacy settings. Toggle  Customize Privacy to edit what information you choose to display.
    2. Under Manage select Settings, scroll down and select Privacy Settings.  Toggle  Customize Privacy to edit what information you choose to display.

  • What should be my first response to a technical issue?

    Three great first steps to resolve most tech issues are:

    • Refresh the page. 
    • Double-check your internet connection.
    • Try using a different web browser (See below).

    Nine times out of ten, one of those steps will do the trick!

  • What does "Refreshing" a page mean and how do I do it?

    To “refresh” a web page simply means to load it again. On most other browsers there is an arrow at the top of the page that look similar to this: . On Google Chrome and Safari, in the menu bar, click “View” and then “Reload”.

  • Am I required to login to watch the service and see the chat?

    No. You are not required to login if you just want to watch the service and view the live chat. You can always click the "x" when prompted to login. You would need to login if you wanted to participate in the live chat or request prayer.

  • How do I download a different web browser or verify mine is up to date?

    Click these links and follow the accompanying directions to download Chrome, Firefox, or Opera.

  • What do I do if the video suddenly stops playing?

    If the video stops, refresh the page (see above). In some browsers, you may also need to click inside the video player to restart the video.


    If we are experiencing technical issues with our livestream we will update you in the chat with what is going on.

  • My Chat window is now in another language. How can I change it back to English?

    Click at the top of the chat window—this will default the chat to the language you’re currently using in your messages. You’ll see a globe icon. Refresh if needed (see above).  For mobile users click the  hamburger icon on the left top corner and select your preferred language. 

  • How do I get the video to play if the screen says it's "Unable to connect to the content"?

    If you receive the message below, first try refreshing the page (see above). If that doesn’t help, click “Watch in low quality” or ”Watch in high quality” under the video.

  • If I am using my phone (especially iPhone) how can I watch the service and still access the chat?

    Exit out of the full screen video by clicking the X at the top left of the video screen. You need to select the Picture-in-Picture button on the video screen (see photo below). This will pop out the video on a smaller screen so you can watch and still access the chat.

  • My computer or phone is just not cooperating today. How can I watch the service/message later?

    The entire service including worship is available at vimeo.com/oakdalechurchlive. You can go here to watch the service on demand. 


    Sunday messages are also posted, usually by Tuesday, on the church website - oakdale.church/message. You can sign up to receive a direct link to the message on our website sent to you my text message (usually Mondays at noon) by texting the word OAKDALE to the number 78716.

Giving &
Statements:

  • How can I financially support Oakdale?

    Please visit oakdale.church/give to find all of the ways you can give tithes, offerings or gifts to support the disciple-making mission at Oakdale.

  • How do I manage my Recurring Giving

    Please visit my.oakdale.church/Give. At the bottom of the giving form you can see "My Recurring Giving" to be able to edit your current recurring giving.


    To start new recurring giving, please select RECURRING at the top of my.oakdale.church/Give. You can then select the amount, frequency, start date and then how you want to pay (Credit/Debit or ACH).

  • What are the Processing Fees to Give Online?

    We pay a processing fee for every donation/gift or tithe. Maximize your impact, please consider covering transaction fees with your gift:

    • Credit/Debit: $0.30 + 2.29%  
    • ACH: $0.30 + 0.4%
  • Where do I find my Giving History?

    You can find your giving history by clicking the Giving tab on your my.oakdale.church profile or by clicking here.

  • How do I access my Giving Statement?

    You can see your contribution statement and giving history by selecting the Giving tab (or click here). To find your most current statement click the button Statements and then select the hyperlink for this year. This will be your up to date statement as of today.

  • Does Oakdale mail out Tax Statements?

    We will NOT be mailing out giving statements in an effort to be good stewards of our finances (printing and mailing is a significant cost).


    Your statement is always available on the my.oakdale.church database, by clicking the giving tab then selecting statements, or directly by clicking here.

  • Memorial Gifts - How can I give to Oakdale in honor or memory of someone?

    Thank you for giving in honor or memory to Oakdale. Please visit my.oakdale.church/give/memorial. Be sure to add a note so your gift is applied to the correct place.

  • How do I login to the My.Oakdale.Church Database?

    Visit my.oakdale.church and login with your user name or email and password associated with your account.

  • How can I access the Church Photo Directory to find emails or phone numbers for other congregants?

    Please visit my.oakdale.church/PictureDirectory


    You will need to login with your MyOakdale user name or email and password. See the first question for help. Here you can search for other congregants contact information.

  • How do I access my profile on the MyOakdale database website?

    Visit my.oakdale.church and login to the MyOakdale Database. You will see your profile page and on the left-hand side see your family members listed. Under your contact information at the top and the blue and green labels you will see various tabs that you can select.


    To edit your contact information make sure you are on the Personal tab (or click here). On the upper right side of the page you can click the edit button. Then you can make changes to your email, birthday, anniversary and phone numbers. Make sure you click the blue save changes when you are done.

  • How can I add or change my photo to the Oakdale Database?

    The EASIEST way to do this is through the Oakdale App (see help to do that above). You can also do this on the website from your computer. On your profile page, click Edit Picture below your current photo or the grey person icon. Then select Choose File and select the photo saved on your computer. You will then select Upload.

  • How do I find Church Board Minutes?

    The easiest way to do this is on the Oakdale App (see above)


    You can also access this using a browser and logging into the my.oakdale.church database. Please click on the Resources tab (or click here) and then select the tab Church Board. Minutes are available by clicking the link under each month to access the PDF.

  • How do I find Giving History or Statements?

    The easiest way to do this is in the Oakdale App (see above).


    You can see your contribution statement and giving history in a web browser by selecting the Giving tab (or click here). To find your most current statement click the button Statements and then select the hyperlink for this year. This will be your up to date statement as of today.

  • How do I find Emails or Texts the Oakdale sent me?

    The Communications tab (click here) has a list of all the emails and texts that you received from Oakdale. If you want to find an old email this is where you go. Select the link that matches the subject of the email to open it.

  • How can I verify my own membership status at Oakdale using the MyOakdale database?

    Login at my.oakdale.church in a mobile or web browser. At the top of your profile page there are green squares under your name and contact information. If you have a green square that says "Member" you are a member. If your green square says "Not Member" or "Previous Member" you are not a member or used to be a member.
