Empowering Kids to be disciple-makers

We’re dedicated to partnering with parents to help children become fully devoted followers of Christ. Through age-specific lessons, and disciple-making activities, children ages birth-5th grade learn biblical truths and real-life lessons they can apply to their lives every week in Oakdale Kids.

Is your family new to Oakdale Church?
We would love to know more about your family and connect with you.

What to Expect

Three is a great number. There are three persons in the Holy Trinity (God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit) and there are three key ingredients in a child's spiritual formation:

  • God

  • You, the parents/guardians

  • Oakdale Church

We consider it a joy and privilege to sow into the Kingdom of God as we teach your children. Our three ministry goals are to:

  1. Empower children by helping them encounter God’s love

  2. Empower parents by sharing spiritual growth resources

  3. Empower leaders to grow in their gifts and callings in children’s ministry

Thank you for allowing us to be part of your family and child's life!

Sunday Services

Parents, as you come into church, please check-in your children at the Kids Ministry table in the lobby. Pick up YOUR (parent) name tag and CHILD's name tag. You will need this to pick up your child at the end of service for security.

Parents, please pick your kids up at their individual classrooms (see below) after the service.

  • Nursery: After check-in take your babies and 1 year olds to the Nursery (Room 111)
  • Pre-School: Check in and then go down to the Pre-School Hall past the nursery and around the corner to drop off your toddlers and 4 year olds.
    • 2s/3s: Room 103
    • 3.5 and 4s: Room 108
  • Elementary: Continue to worship with you in the Sanctuary. Then, they will head upstairs to the Oasis for a large group kids message. After they will disperse into smaller groups:
    • Kindergarten: Room 303
    • 1st-3rd: Oasis
    • 4th/5th: Room 308

Faith at Home

Weekday Discipleship

Oakdale Kids Ministry is not merely interested in getting more kids to church on Sunday - we're more interested in seeing the love of Christ get into THEM! We are here to help you make disciples at home, perhaps the greatest mission field parents face.  We hope you'll allow us to come on this journey with you. Check out this helpful article on being genuine parents!

There are three key areas where we can help nurture our kids' faith:

Pray

We believe prayer is where our hearts' desires change so that we become more like Christ. The place of prayer is also where we surrender ourselves to God's heart to see a generation of children come alive in God, our church thrive in a spirit of unity and our community become disciple-makers.

Every Wednesday
Join us for Extraordinary Prayer with worship by Richard Lee on Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m. Normally we meet in Brigham Hall but for now we are praying together online via Zoom.

Kids are welcome to join! There is no better place to raise kids than in the place where they see mom and dad hanging out with God.

(Discover) the Word

1. Each person shares something s/he is thankful for
2. Pick a Story from the Bible (the gospel of Mark is a great place to start!)
3. Have two people re-tell or act out the story
4. Ask: "What does this story tell us about what God is like?"
5. Ask: "What does this story tell us about people?"

SHARE

6. Who can you share this story with?
- some suggestions: Draw a picture of the story and send it snail mail! Write a letter telling a friend what you learned about God from the story. Facetime with Grandma or Grandpa and tell them about what you learned from the story.
