Parents must explain the relationship principles behind God’s commands. Moses told the Israelites that when their children ask about the meaning of God’s commands, they are to tell them about His power and faithfulness in bringing them out of Egypt and into the Promised Land. We, too, should expect our children to ask what God’s rules are all about. This is where we have the opportunity to help the next generation develop a Christ-centered worldview. Jesus said that the greatest command is to love the Lord with all of your heart, soul, mind and strength, and that the second is to love your neighbor as yourself (Matthew 22:34-40). Every other command in the Bible supports these two relationship concepts.

Los padres deben explicar los principios de la relación detrás de los mandamientos de Dios. Moisés dijo a los israelitas que cuando sus hijos les pregunten acerca del significado de los mandamientos de Dios, son para hablarles de Su poder y fidelidad al sacarlos de Egipto hacia la Tierra Prometida. Nosotros, también, debemos esperar que nuestros hijos pregunten sobre las órdenes de Dios. Jesús dijo que el mandamiento más grande es amar al Señor con todo tu corazón, tu alma, tu mente y tu fuerza, y que el segundo es amar a tu prójimo como a ti mismo (Mateo 22:34-40). Cada mandamiento en la Biblia apoya estos dos conceptos de relación.
