Key Scripture: 1 Corinthians 10:13
It’s not possible or advisable for parents to protect their children from every danger, risk or temptation. Rather, parenting means that we go ahead of our kids and investigate what is in store for them and then help to prepare them to be faithful in the world they encounter. Much of the pain that we experience in life comes from the fact that we no longer live in the perfect world that God intended for us. Here’s a question: When did temptation enter into creation—before or after “The Fall” when Adam and Eve rebelled against God? Temptation was part of God’s original plan. And because God declared everything He created to be “good,” then temptation must be a good thing. We’ve got to figure out the purpose of temptation.

No es posible ni recomendable que los padres protejan a sus hijos de todos los peligros, riesgos o tentación. Más bien, la paternidad significa que nos adelantemos a nuestros hijos e investigar lo que depara el futuro para ellos y luego ayudar a prepararlos para ser fieles en el mundo en que se encuentran. Gran parte del dolor que experimentamos en la vida proviene del hecho de que ya no vivimos en un mundo perfecto que Dios quería para nosotros. Aquí es una pregunta: ¿Cuándo la tentación entrar en la creación, antes o después de “La Caída,” cuando Adán y Eva se rebelaron contra Dios? La tentación era parte del plan original de Dios. Y porque Dios declaró todo lo que Él creó es “bueno,” entonces la tentación debe ser una buena cosa. Tenemos que entender el propósito de la tentación.
